Philosophy

5280 Early Childhood Education Center focuses on the development of a child as a whole person from six weeks through five years of age.  We believe that young children acquire knowledge through active participation in the world: building, playing, talking, listening, painting, running, reading, measuring, and many more experiences.  We believe that children are exceptional individuals who gain knowledge through their surroundings in various ways.
5280 Early Childhood Education Center (with the help of parents, teachers, administration, and research) will provide an atmosphere that delivers a positive learning experience.  We strive to offer a setting that will provide an extension of the home environment, and an atmosphere that is diverse in math, science, reading, writing, geography, music, arts, social and cultural acceptance, environmental stewardship, nutritional and health knowledge, and independence.

Education

Our educational goal is to foster and cultivate every child’s language, social, cognitive, pre-writing skills, early math skills, science, art and music appreciation.  We want our students to acquire  a love and desire to learn. 



Students at 5280 Early Childhood Education Center will participate in many different experiences designed to cultivate creativity, curiosity, and knowledge about the world around them. 



Experiences such as:

Gardening, arts and crafts, play, fine and gross motor skills, social interactions with peers.



5280 Early Childhood Education Center follows three different curriculums:

Phonics: Zoophonics

Writing: Handwriting Without Tears

Math: Hands On Standards

Social & Emotional: Second Step

These curriculums are research based, and are alligned with the National Common Core Standards. Hands on Standards Math is recognized by the National Council of Teachers of Math, and Zoophonics has received the 17th Annual Learning Magazine Teachers' Choice for the Classroom Award.

There are many ways that 5280 Early Childhood Education Center shows that we care about your child, family, our employees and the environment.

 

At 5280 Early Childhood Education Center we:

Have a chef on-site who cooks the freshest foods possible, we use Babyganics sunscreen for our students (no parabens, sulfates, phthalates or toxins) gardening,  we offer low teacher:student ratios, over 4,000 square feet outdoors Great Minds' playground that includes a mud kitchen, pump track (we have strider bikes) and magnetic STEM wall (make certain that you dress for PLAY), and an educated staff.



5280 Early Childhood Education Center sets ourself apart from other centers because we believe in doing what's right for children and their parents. We believe in honesty, morals and ethics.

Please be aware that we are a PEANUT FREE school.  Due to the amount of children who have peanut allergies we kindly ask that NO PEANUT PRODUCTS be brought into the center. 

 

We are open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
